Hormones! As women, it's a word we've been conditioned to fear or moan about. These little chemical messengers seem to be the source of all our menstrual and menopausal issues - bloating, cramps, irritability, sore boobs, irregular bleeding, hot flushes, insomnia, night sweats... sound familiar?

But here's the good news: there are lots of things you can do RIGHT NOW to support your hormones without resorting to synthetic hormones to "fix" the problem.

Today I'm sharing my 5 top tips for balancing your hormones naturally - and trust me, these work whether you're dealing with period problems or menopausal symptoms.

In this episode, I'm covering:

Cruciferous vegetables: These powerful foods help your body get rid of excess hormones while providing essential nutrients. I'm revealing which vegetables are in this family (some might surprise you!) and why they're so important for hormone health.

Healthy fats: Your liver needs these to make oestrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. But not all fats are created equal - I'm sharing which ones actually support your hormones and which sources are best.

Protein and Vitamin B12: Essential for detoxing excess oestrogen and stimulating thyroid hormone production. I'm explaining why animal sources matter and which plant-based options work too.

Stress and sugar: Here's the big one - cortisol and insulin are the King and Queen hormones that control all the others. I'm revealing why managing these is absolutely critical and sharing a simple trick for eating carbs that won't spike your blood sugar.

Glutathione: The chief antioxidant in your body that protects against toxins and supports your liver. I'm explaining what robs your body of this vital nutrient (hint: it's probably in your medicine cabinet right now!) and how to get more of it.

This episode is packed with actionable information you can start using today. No expensive supplements required - just real food and smart choices that support your body's natural hormone production.

Hello, and welcome to the Homeopath in Your Pocket, where I help busy working mums discover how to support their family's health with confidence. Hi, I'm your host, Leila Pabu, a licensed homeopath with 20 years of experience as a pharmacist. As a mom of two girls, I totally understand the juggle of family life firsthand. Each week, I'll share practical, actionable tips that you can use today to support your family's well-being. So let's get started. Today we're going to talk about how to balance your hormones naturally. And the word hormones is a word that we've been conditioned to fear or moan about. These little chemical messengers can be a source of menstrual and menopausal issues. They can cause bloating, cramps, irritability, crying, sore boobs, irregular bleeding, flooding, hot flushes, insomnia, and night sweat. So what's the good news? There's lots you can do to support your hormones without synthetic hormones, and I'll be sharing my top five tips that you can do right now. So let's get started. So tip number one is cruciferous vegetables. So what they do is help the body to get rid of excess hormones. They're a rich source of nutrients such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, vitamin A, C, E, and K, and vitamin B9 as well as folate. They contain lots of fibre, which helps to keep your bowels moving and regular. And this means less toxins in the body. So what are these vegetables? So sometimes they're called the brassica family. So bok choy, broccoli, brussels sprout, cabbage, cauliflower, spring greens, horseradish, kale, polarabi, mustard, radish, rocket, turnip, watercress, and wasabi. And these are all really easy to add to meals. So why does this matter? When hormones circulate in the body, they need to be broken down when they've got the end of their lifetime and got rid of or eliminated. If they're not eliminated properly, they can be reabsorbed and recirculate and cause more problems. And this is where cruciferous vegetables can help support this detox process. So if you're constipated or your bowels are not moving regularly, the estrogen that is there, a little bit of a lot of people.
